11.1.2. Rotary fist

GENERAL INFORMATION

Prevention

All nuts of Nyloc unscrewed at removal need to be replaced with new. The carving of these nuts is covered by structure against unscrewing which is effective only at the first use of a nut.

Not to lower the car on wheels with one or both power shafts disconnected from a nave as the hug bearing can be damaged. If it is necessary to move the car, to temporarily insert a power shaft into a nave and to fix it by a nut.

Two various types of a rotary fist can be applied, depending on model. Earlier elements of a nave continuous, and later hollow, can be also identified on existence of an opening from above of knot (see rice. Identification of a rotary fist of late releases). At installation to pay attention to the former place that the moments of tightening differ for two types of a rotary fist. The changed lower levers are adapted for connection with later rotary fists, and early lower levers and the last rotary fists are not interchanged.

Identification of a rotary fist of late releases

Identification of a rotary fist of late releases is made on an opening (it is specified by an arrow) in the top part.

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To take off a wheel nave cap, to take a R-shaped bracket and a head of blocking. To weaken a nut of fastening of a power shaft to a nave on the car standing wheels on the earth. Also to weaken bolts of fastening of a wheel. To lift a forward part of the car and to record on supports. To remove the corresponding forward wheel.
2. On the models equipped with ABS to remove the sensor installed on a car wheel.
3. To unscrew a nut of fastening of a power shaft.
4. To unscrew two bolts fixing a brake support to a rotary fist and to remove a support from a brake disk. Using a soft wire to tie up a support to a suspension bracket spring.
5. Using chalk or paint, to note arrangements of a brake disk in relation to a nave, then to unscrew the screw the fixing brake disk to a nave and to remove a disk.
6. For investment of removal of a rotary fist from a rack to install the device for compression of springs and to slightly squeeze springs or to hold a spring in the compressed state with use of ropes (adaptation 0903 AF) for what to perform the following operations:
      – to establish one of ropes in one of two top openings (see rice. Installation of the holding ropes (0903 AF) in the top part of a rack of a suspension bracket and rice. Installation of the holding ropes (0903 AF) in the lower part of a rack of a suspension bracket);
      – to turn a steering wheel and to establish the second rope;
      – to insert catches of each rope into openings of the lower cup;
      – to insert bolts with a diameter of 6 mm for prevention of loss of ropes into openings.
7. To unscrew a bolt, the fixing connector of the stabilizer of cross resistance to the lower lever.
8. To unscrew a nut, the fixing steering thirst for a rotary fist and to take the spherical hinge of steering draft from a rotary fist. For extraction of the spherical hinge of steering draft from a rotary fist it is necessary to use a universal stripper of spherical hinges.
9. To unscrew a nut of fastening of the lower spherical hinge and to take a pin of the spherical hinge from the lower lever.
10. To unscrew a nut (it is specified by shooters) and to take tightening a bolt of a rack of a rotary fist, noting that the bolt is established from the back party of the car. At installation it is necessary to use new tightening a bolt and a nut.
11. To insert the lever into a groove in rotary a fist and to expand a groove so that it was possible to remove a rotary fist from a rack. In the presence of adaptation 8.0903 AE to install it in a groove in rotary a fist and to turn on 90 ° for expansion of a groove so that it was possible to remove a rotary fist from a rack.
12. To remove a rotary fist from the end of a rack, then to remove it from the end of a power shaft and to remove from the car. By means of a soft wire to tie up a power shaft to a car body.

Installation

Installation of a rotary fist


1 – a bolt of fastening of a rotary fist to a suspension bracket rack,

2 – bolts of fastening of a support,

3 – nut of the lower spherical hinge,

4 – connector of draft of the stabilizer,

5 – steering draft

Gap on later ledges of a clip


The gap (A) on later ledges of a clip of a rotary fist should not be less than 6,5 mm.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To check that vents on the external end of a power shaft and grooves in a nave pure. To pull a nave over grooves of a power shaft.
2. To pull a rotary fist over the lower part of a rack of a suspension bracket, leveling a crack in a rotary fist with a ledge on the end of a rack. To insert new tightening a bolt from the back party of the car, to screw a nut on a bolt and to tighten the required moment.
3. Two types of rotary fists can be applied. For installation of later rotary fists it is necessary to measure after tightening of a tightening bolt a gap between ledges of a clip of a rotary fist (see rice. A gap on later ledges of a clip). The gap should not be less, than 6,5 mm. If the gap is less, than specified, to perform following operations:
      – to check a condition of the lower end of a rack. If diameter of a rack was compressed, the shock-absorber can be damaged, and the rack needs to be replaced;
      – if the rack is not damaged, but the gap between ledges of a clip of a rotary fist still is less than specified, to replace a rotary fist.
4. To combine the lower spherical hinge with the lower lever and to fix it with use of a new nut.
5. To connect the spherical hinge of steering draft to a rotary fist and to fix by a new nut.
6. To establish a bolt of fastening of the stabilizer of cross resistance to the lower lever and to tighten the required moment.
7. To establish a brake disk.
8. To grease an internal part and a carving of a nut of fastening of a power shaft with pure engine oil and to screw a nut on a power shaft. To fix a nut of fastening of a power shaft by the required moment. To check that the nave rotates freely, to establish a head of blocking of a nut of a power shaft so that one of safety locks was combined with an opening of a power shaft and to record it a R-shaped bracket.
9. To remove the device for compression of springs.
10. On the models equipped with ABS to install the sensor of rotation of a wheel.
11. To establish a wheel and to lower the car.
