2.4.2. Check of level of gearbox oil

GENERAL INFORMATION

Prevention

On models since 1994 of production the specified interval for this procedure – 15 000 km or 12 months.


The probe for measurement of level of gearbox oil

The probe for measurement of level is located on the forward party of the engine, just before connection the engine / transmission. Probe top for measurement of level of bright color (usually orange) for easy identification.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To make on the car a short trip for warming up of the transmission up to the normal working temperature, then to park the vehicle on the horizontal platform and to check oil level.
2. During the operation of the engine idling and the lever of the selector of the automatic transmission in situation "P" (parking) to take the probe for measurement of level from a trubya to wipe all liquid since the end of the probe a pure rag or a paper towel.
3. To insert the pure probe for measurement of level back into a pipe against the stop, then to take once again and to determine liquid level on the end of the probe which has to be between the top and lower tags (hyphens).
4. If level low, it is necessary to add the required amount of the specified liquid through a probe pipe for measurement of level.

Prevention

Never assume that the level of liquid was above the top tag.


5. After refueling of gearbox oil to carry out a trial trip for full distribution of oil and to repeatedly measure oil level.
6. The frequent need for a dolivka of gearbox oil specifies that there is a leak which needs to be found and eliminated.
