2.4.3. Check and adjustment of a tension of a maple belt

GENERAL INFORMATION

Prevention

On models since 1994 the specified interval for this procedure – 30 000 km.

Peugeot orders use of the special electronic tool for the correct installation of a tension of a driving belt. If this equipment is absent, approximate installation can be reached by the method described in subsection 2.4.5.1, subsection 2.4.5.2, subsection 2.4.5.3.

All engines, except the XU9J4 engine with 16 valves, are equipped with a driving belt which is given from a pulley of a bent shaft on the forward party of the engine.

On models without conditioner the belt drive puts the generator of alternating current and the pump of the amplifier of steering in action. On models with air conditioning the belt drive puts the generator of alternating current, the pump of the amplifier of steering and the compressor of air conditioning in action. On the XU9J4 models the separate driving belt puts in action the pump of the amplifier of steering from a pulley on the end of the camshaft.
