8.1.3. Adjustment of draft of gear shifting

GENERAL INFORMATION

Draft of gear shifting, control lever transmission and cable of blocking of turning on of the reverse gear

1 – draft of the lever of gear shifting,
2 – plug of blocking of the reverse gear,
3 – cable of blocking of turning on of the reverse gear,
4 – draft of the choice of transfers,
5 – intermediate element,

9 – intermediate connector of the external mechanism of gear shifting

If gear shifting rigid or inexact, perhaps, the reason of it is covered in draft of gear shifting. In this case it is recommended to remove draft of gear shifting, to check for wear and damages and after lubricant of all hinged connections to establish draft into place. On some early models of cars if necessary it is possible to adjust length of draft of gear shifting. However this adjustment is intended for initial installation of draft (when replacing draft on new or if length of draft does not meet standard) and not intended for wear compensation in use.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To lift a forward part of the car and to record on supports.
2. To measure length of draft of gear shifting between centers which has to make 246,0 mm. If length of draft does not meet standard, then it is necessary to weaken a lock-nut and to remove a draft tip from spherical hinged connection from the lever on transmissions. To rotate a draft tip before receiving distance between centers of draft, equal 246,0 mm, then to connect a draft tip to spherical hinged connection and to tighten a lock-nut.
3. To check that the mechanism of gear shifting is correctly adjusted and the lever of gear shifting in neutral situation holds required position.
