3.1.2.4. Dismantling of the engine

GENERAL INFORMATION

The cylinder No. 3 is shown.

If there is an opportunity – to install the engine on the stand if it is not present – to establish so that the engine could not be damaged when unscrewing of hardly tightened nuts and bolts.

When dismantling it is very important to observe purity not to allow pollution of the sorted components. Before starting dismantling, to clear the engine outside kerosene or if it is very polluted, solvent.

When details are removed from the engine, to wash out them in kerosene. Never to immerse in detail kerosene, the having internal lubricant channels. Similar details should be wiped carefully with the fabric moistened in kerosene, and to clean lubricant channels a wire rope.

Bolts of side fastening of a cover of the average bearing of a bent shaft

Bolts of fastening are specified by shooters.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To remove a starter and the transmission.
2. To remove the generator, collectors, the distributor of ignition and the fuel pump.
3. To place the engine on the corresponding holder.
4. To take off a driving belt of the camshaft.
5. To remove a head of the block of cylinders.
6. To establish flanges of sleeves of cylinders.
7. To remove coupling (the leading part and a disk).
8. To turn the engine.
9. To remove the oil pallet (1 – a special bolt, 2 – a support).
10. To remove the oil pump. For this purpose follows:
      – to unscrew three bolts of fastening of the pump;
      – to take a support, moving it in the direction of an oil filter;
      – to remove a chain from a pump asterisk, and then to take the pump.
11. To remove a sealing ring from a flywheel.
12. To uncover the bearing from the camshaft (6 bolts, among them two short).
13. To remove a chain of the drive of the oil pump.
14. To remove a driving asterisk of the oil pump.
15. To remove a segment spline from a bent shaft.
16. To note paint each cover of the lower head of a rod the corresponding number of the cylinder. The cylinder No. 1 is from a flywheel.
17. To turn a bent shaft so that to install pistons 1 and 4 of cylinders in the lower dead point.
18. To unscrew covers of the lower head of a rod of 1 cylinder and to remove them.
19. Using the handle of the hammer to push out the piston of 1 cylinder up from the block of cylinders.
20. To remove the piston 4 cylinders, then to turn a bent shaft on 180 ° and to remove pistons 2 and 3 of cylinders.
21. To uncover bearings of a bent shaft.
Prevention

Two bolts outside of the block of cylinders form side fastening of a cover of the average bearing (see rice. Bolts of side fastening of a cover of the average bearing of a bent shaft).


22. To take a bent shaft and to remove internal radical inserts from the block of cylinders.
