Coupling
Coupling (since January, 1988)
Coupling consists of a clutch plate, the leading part of coupling with a press disk and the switching off mechanism. The switching off mechanism – mechanical is also operated a self-regulating cable. The clutch plate is established between a flywheel and a press clutch plate and moves on vents of a main shaft of the transmission. The leading knot of coupling is screwed by bolts on a flywheel. The torque during the operation of the engine is transmitted from a bent shaft through a flywheel and a clutch plate which is clamped between a flywheel and a press disk, to a main shaft of the transmission. The clutch plate has a quencher of tortional fluctuations and bezasbestovy slips. To disconnect the engine from the transmission, it is necessary to take away press a disk from a clutch plate. On the Peugeot cars use two various mechanisms of switching off of coupling. The first – usual type where the release bearing is installed on primary to a transmission shaft. The second type – where the release bearing is an integral part of the leading knot of coupling. As the spare part the unified coupling case allowing to apply both decisions is delivered. In the first case (with the switching off lever) use of the spherical hinge of the disk corresponding to diameter is obligatory. Characteristic sizes of the amount of adjustment of coupling were left without changes. By pressing a coupling pedal the cable moves and turns a fork of switching off of coupling for the top end of a fork. A fork, turning, squeezes springs of press type and takes away press a disk from a clutch plate. Since January, 1988 the lever of switching off of coupling was replaced with the special axis passing through a case of coupling and operated directly by a cable (without intermediate lever). As frictional overlays of a clutch plate wear out, height of a pedal of coupling increases therefore it is necessary to regulate a coupling cable to guarantee the correct action of coupling. However from the middle of 1994 the cable of coupling with automatic adjustment is established (it can be established also on earlier models). The automatic regulator is switched on in the central part of a cable of coupling. |
