4.3.4. Check and adjustment of systems of injection of fuel

GENERAL INFORMATION

Prevention

During the work on fuel system it is necessary to take off previously pressure in system.

Removal of pressure in fuel system

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. To remove a weight wire from the accumulator.

2. To slowly weaken a connecting nut in the fuel highway to take off pressure in fuel system.

3. The alternative method of removal of pressure in fuel system consists in removing either the fuse of the fuel pump, or the relay of the fuel pump and to start the engine in the idling mode to a stop. After completion of work on fuel system to install earlier removed fuses or the relay.

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. To check reliability of connection of wires and lack of corrosion.

2. To check a condition of the air filter and spark plugs.

3. To check compression pressure in engine cylinders.

4. To check installation of a corner of an advancing of ignition.

Adjustment

BOSCH L3 SYSTEMS. 1 AND MP3. 1

Before adjustment to establish the speed of idling and to satisfy the following conditions:

      – the system of ignition has to be in good shape and is correctly adjusted;
      – the air filter has to be pure;
      – starting positions of a butterfly valve are correctly adjusted;
      – the switch of a butterfly valve is correctly adjusted;
      – the engine has to be heated-up, the fan of cooling has to join and be switched off once.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

	1. To adjust idling speed the screw of turn of a butterfly valve. The turn of the screw clockwise reduces idling speed, counterclockwise – increases speed.
2. To install the analyzer of exhaust gas on the car according to instructions of the manufacturer.
	3. To adjust composition of fuel mix (SO), rotating the air stream measuring instrument screw. For access to the screw it is necessary to remove from it a cap previously.
4. To modify idling speed.

BOSCH ML4 SYSTEM. 1

Speed of idling is not regulated. It is run by the idling speed regulator valve.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. To install the analyzer of exhaust gas on the car according to instructions of the manufacturer.

2. To adjust composition of fuel mix (SO), rotating the air stream measuring instrument screw. For access to the screw it is necessary to remove from it a cap previously. The turn of the screw clockwise increases contents WITH, and counterclockwise – reduces.

Speed of idling is regulated as it is described for the Bosch L3.1 system (see above).

The composition of fuel mix is automatically regulated by the device according to signals of the oxygen sensor.

BOSCH MOTRONIC M SYSTEM 1. 3

Speed of idling is regulated only on engines with 8 valves; on engines the speed of idling is run with 16 valves by the ECU block.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

On systems regulation is not provided. If the speed of idling or composition of mix do not meet standard, so the control unit is damaged.
